About Daylight Strategy

Daylight Strategy is a five piece Christian rock band with Pop and Classic Rock influences. They sound like a combination of The Killers, Foo Fighters, and Coldplay. Daylight Strategy was initially formed in August 2004 by Douglas Hurt (vocals, guitar), Ben Allred (lead guitar, BGV), and Dempsey Kraft (drums, BGV). The trio originally played to have fun, but soon discovered that music was their calling. While performing in Oklahoma the band moved over 100 copies of their self-titled EP. During the summer of 2005, the band went back into the studio to record their first full-length album. Over the following year, Daylight Strategy's sound changed with the addition of Kiah Dority on Keyboard. Seeing a new musical direction, the four began writing new material with better musicianship and more cohesiveness. After seeing Daylight Strategy perform in local battle of the bands, Kiah's brother, Isaiah Lockhart, expressed interest in joining the band. A drummer by trade, Isaiah was willing to play bass guitar in order to join Daylight Strategy. The band played several shows, including Shoutfest 2006, with this line-up. However, after realizing Dempsey had a bass guitar background, and seeing Isaiah's skills on the drum-set, the band changed yet again. They decided to rotate Dempsey to the bass and Isaiah to the drums. Dempsey brings more enthusiasm and melodic creativity to the bass while Isaiah brings unique energy and talent to the drum-set. Daylight Strategy was complete. Daylight Strategy plays as much as possible while continuing to write new and innovative music. They are working on creating a stellar live show that will energize fans while providing a message of God's love.
